Himalayan kittens are available for adoption in October 2010. To adopt a kitten, you need to enter the Waiting List. Email or call me, Mary Burkwit, at 585-671-6496 to inform me that you are serious about adopting a kitten. After we exchange information, you are welcome to send a non-refundable Commitment Approval Fee of $150 to secure your kitten. The remaining cost is due 14 days before your kitten leaves my home. Only Postal Money Orders and Cashiers Checks issued by a Bank are accepted as payment. Personal checks are not accepted.
You will receive a Birth Announcement when the kittens are born. Sometimes, kittens are available sooner. Keep in mind that these kittens are unique in their training so I only raise 2 to 3 litters per year. Himalayan kittens are born pure white. As they grow, their points grow in either Cream or Red. As pointed kittens, it is impossible to determine whether a kitten is a Flame Point (Red) or Cream Point (Red Dilute) until closer to two months old. You can see this by looking at the Photos page and noting the ages of the kittens in the script above their pictures.

Delivery is NOT included in the price of the kitten. You are welcome to pick up your kitten from my home in Rochester, NY 14618. Buffalo NY and Niagara Falls are cities to the west of Rochester and Syracuse NY and Albany NY are to the East of Rochester NY. Binghamton NY and Ithaca NY are 3 hours southeast and continuing 300+ miles southeast is NYC and NJ. I am willing to make road trip arrangements as described below.
Airline Delivery: Carry On A professional courier is also available to fly your kitten to you by taking your kitten as "carry on" to put your kitten under her seat. She will meet you at the nearest airport to you and return. Costs range from $250 - $400.
You are welcome to fly to Rochester, NY (airport code ROC) to pick up your kitten. I will gladly pick you up from the airport and bring you to my home. When making reservations, ask if the airline allows you to bring your kitten into the cabin as "carry on". Some airlines charge $50 to $100 but some don't charge any extra at all. Your kitten will also need a Vet approved Health Certificate dated within 10 days of flight which costs $35. Depending on age and destination, a rabies vaccine may also be necessary for an additional cost. You can return with your kitten as "carry on" in a soft sided carrier up to size large which you can put under your seat. This is a wonderful way to travel because you can be with your kitten during layovers. During cold winter temperatures, this is the best option.
Airline Delivery: Special Cargo Animals are NEVER placed with luggage. Kittens are hand carried to make transfers. Your kitten can be flown to your airport from Rochester, NY (airport code ROC). Most airlines are wonderful handling kittens. Kittens are hand carried and never put on conveyor belts. Most airlines have a designated area where you can pick up your kitten apart from the busy areas of the baggage claim area. Kittens travel as "Special Cargo" which means that they travel in a separate cabin that is pressurized. I research routes to ensure that your kittens make rapid transfers with minimal delays. Kittens are also packed up by me with items that bring them the most comfort, usually their training bells and a blanket used by them with their mother. The approximate cost by the airline is $300 - $375.
If it is necessary that I deliver you kitten to the Airport in Buffalo or another city, an extra delivery fee will be charged. For Canadians, I can arrange to meet you on the US side of Niagara Falls, NY or Alexandria Bay, NY for an additional delivery fee. Canadian and other International deliveries must be discussed and additional processing fees apply according to the your country's consulate.
Road Trip Delivery: Your kitten can be delivered to your home or we can establish a meeting point for a fee. Each delivery quote is specific to that client. As a guideline, delivery prices start at $50 per hour of driving from Rochester, NY 14618. If the distance requires that I stay overnight or travel with a friend, that enters into the equation. These are approximations. Delivery costs can be more than the guidelines above.
At a delivery point, you must have a crate, collar and first aid kit as described below.
